52-year-old John Popinski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was inside Salac's Tavern in Lawrenceville Wednesday night where he works as a bartender. The bar was closed but he was there with his 17-year-old son. Popinski was playing with the handgun the bar owner keeps at the bar for safety. He was twirling the .357 revolver went the gun went off, shooting him in the head. Popinski was transported to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A co-worker described Popinski as "the greatest person in the world."
