"I saw his Nintendo game fall on the floor, I looked around and all I saw was blood coming from his head."

4-year-old Marquel Peters was shot and killed by a stray bullet while sitting next to his mother at church on New Year's Eve. Georgia ballistics investigators think the bullet was most likely fired from an AK-47 some distance away. "This is New Year's Eve and people are out shooting their guns." While illegal, it is not uncommon for this kind of misguided celebration.
But what goes up, must come down, and in this instance the bullet pierced the roof of a church and came down on an innocent child, quietly sitting next to his mother, playing video games.

Here, look at my gun, it's not loaded........

Four convenience store clerks are in the back room of the store. Ehab Ahmed is showing off his gun to another man. He takes the magazine from the handgun and, thinking it is now unloaded, hands it over. The young man takes the gun and in a simple, absentminded move, pulls the trigger. A bullet left in the chamber fires and shoots Ehab in the face. He dies instantly.
A chamber load indicator on the handgun, a device that plainly indicates that a bullet is in the firing chamber, would have alerted Ehab to the fact that the gun was still loaded. If the gun was equipped with a magazine disconnect the trigger could not have been pulled after the magazine was removed.
