Woman shot with own gun trying to fend off robber

A Tulsa, Oklahoma woman was having a garage sale at her house when a man and a woman knocked her to the floor, hit her and took the cash bag from the garage sale.

When the robbers let her up, the victim took a handgun from her back waistband and pointed it at them.  The man grabbed the gun and in the ensuing struggle the gun discharged, shooting the victim in the hand.

The robbers managed to get the gun and left with the gun and the money.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment where she was listed in serious condition.

19-year-old Allicia Love was arrested a short time later about a block from the scene of the robbery.  She admitted to police that she knocked the woman down while her companion took the money.  Police are still looking for the male robber.

A shame she wasn't able to take maybe one step back, preventing the male criminal from getting hold of the gun. Then the right person would have been shot. Or perhaps both would have decided that leaving was the best course of action.
