73-year-old William Geiger of Warwick Township, Pennsylvania was loading a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber snub nose handgun when he unintentionally discharged the gun. The bullet struck Geiger on his left hand and then hit his wife Mary, 72, on her right arm while she was sitting on the couch. The incident happened around 8 o'clock at night. The couple was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
