Father and son injured in unintentional shooting while cleaning handgun

63-year-old Gerald Palanzo, Jr. and his son, 25-year-old Gerald Palanzo, III, of Danbury, Connecticut, were both injured as the result of an unintentional discharge from a .40-caliber handgun while the gun was being cleaned.  Gerald, Jr. was shot in the back and his son was shot in the hand.
Both were taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Gerald, Jr. is in serious condition while his son is in stable condition.
"You couldn't have better neighbors," commented the woman how lives next door to the Palanzos, "I can't imagine what might have happened."
Ohh shoot.
