9-year-old injured when shotgun fired from neighbor's apartment

A 9-year-old girl was injured when a shotgun blast came through the wall of her Apache Junction, Arizona apartment. Two teenage boys in the neighboring apartment are facing charges of an accidental discharge of a weapon.
The girl was sitting in her apartment when she was struck in the chest and abdomen by the shotgun pellets. Her injuries were not life threatening and she is recovering in a Phoenix hospital. According to police, "she is an extremely lucky little girl" that she was not more seriously injured.
Police were not able to recover the shotgun because it had been discarded by the suspects.
Ohh shoot.
