24-year-old Daniel Grenon, of Webster, Massachusetts, and 24-year-old Ryan Aldridge wanted to see which weapon could be drawn faster - a knife or a gun. So the two decided to play a game of "quick draw."
During the contest Grenon pulled out a handgun and unintentionally shot Aldridge in the lower abdomen.
Grenon told police he thought the gun was unloaded.
Aldridge was taken to the hospital and is listed in serious condition after surgery on his abdomen to remove bullet fragments.
Grenon was arrested and charged with assault and batter and improper storage of ammunition and a firearm. He has had his license to carry a concealed weapon revoked and had to surrender his firearms.
Grenon is employed as a security guard at Securitas Security Services in Boston. He has been suspended indefinitely. "He's on administrative leave pending adjudication of the case in the court system," said a company spokesperson. "He is not employed as an armed guard," the spokesperson added.
Another "law abiding conceal-carry" gun owner acts stupidly with tragic results.
ReplyDeletePermit or not, stupid act committed by stupid individual. Just glad he didn't kill his friend. Hopefully they both learned something from this.
ReplyDeleteI work as an armed guard for same company, but West Coast. Anyhow, now told that we can no longer carry a live round in chamber while on duty.
ReplyDeleteVery awesome!!! When I seek for this I found this website at the top of all blogs in search engine.
ReplyDeleteWell that is a tragic story and I advice people to not involve in any kind of game using these types of dangerous weapons.

Unfortunately for the victim he was not given the chance to say yay or nay to participating before the stupid ass with the gun pointed and shot him.
ReplyDeleteThe victim lost a kidney and nearly died. His whole life turned upside down in a matter of a few crazy seconds. Thank God for the quick actions of the other person present in calling for help.
