Police were called to the scene of a shooting at a house on the Northwest River Naval Base in Virginia. When they arrived they found a 9-month-old infant had been shot. The baby was taken to the hospital in Norfolk where she died of her injuries.
According to the police, "the baby was in the care of her parents at the time of the shooting and a preliminary investigation indicates it was an accident."

ReplyDeleteReligious leaders will have a prayer vigil at 4 p.m. today for Aunesti Lee, 3, who died July 29 after being shot in the head in her family's Westside home.
Emergency workers responded to a call at the home at 12:44 p.m. Thursday, and the child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children. She was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. that day.
Police arrested Aunesti's mother, Fiona Lee, 26. She was charged with three counts of neglect of a dependent, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Police said Curtis White Jr., 4, grabbed a gun from a table while Lee was showering and fired the gun at Aunesti's head.
Police were still looking for Curtis and his father, Curtis White, 24, on Saturday afternoon. White is Lee's live-in boyfriend. The father and son left Riley Hospital for Children on Thursday before police could interview them.
That's really sad and it was actually a ohh shoot incidence. This one was also a case of human ignorance and carelessness as the kids are supposed to be more safer with their parents rather then any other person on this earth. Parents must take care of their children as well as their firearms to avoid any chance of accidents.
